How To Get Rid Of Underarm Razor Bumps

How To Get Rid Of Underarm Razor BumpsUnderarm razor bumps can be a pain, literally! When we attend trade shows, we normally get asked a lot of questions from women about razor bumps under the arms.  Here is a brief article outlining some of the advice we give to our customers suffering from underarm razor bumps.

First, we advise prior to any shaving to cleanse and exfoliate the skin.  This helps to prevent the occurrence of razor bumps.  Although, if you already have bumps under the arms, do not attempt to exfoliate as this will aggravate the skin even more.  By exfoliating the skin, you help remove the hardened cells that form within the pores of the skin.  These clogged pores cause hair to grow under the skin.

Secondly, you want to be sure to use a single blade razor. An even better alternative is an electric razor.  If you don’t have the use of an electric razor, just be sure that you are not using a multiple blade razor because these razors promote ingrown hairs and makes these hairs have sharper tips.  Be sure not to shave too close to the skin as well.

The final step in all of this prevention of underarm razor bumps is to be sure to follow this regimen with a proven product that contains an antiseptic and moisturizer.  This is perhaps the most important step, as it will aid in the recover of the skin after shaving, which will help to prevent the razor bumps altogether.

If you are tired of dealing with razor bumps, a great product to use is Faceworks.  Used everyday, Faceworks eliminates razor bumps completely.

3 Tips to Eliminate Bikini Bumps

3 Tips to Eliminate Bikini BumpsWe have always heard of men’s complaints about razor bumps.  Well, increasingly women are having issues with razor bumps since starting to shave their legs, bikini areas, and facial waxing. I will share with you three tips to eliminate the razor bumps in the bikini area and make your summer a little more “bare-able”.

One of the most common causes of razor bumps in this area is due to the reuse of the razor.  Most women say that they use the same razor for months!  This is the reason the skin breaks out in bumps.  You need a sharp edge each time you shave and a used razor has lost it’s edge.  By using a brand new razor each time, you will dramatically reduce the event of razor bump outbreaks.

Secondly, taking long baths before shaving can cause your skin to soften and make it easier for you to get ingrown hairs.  The recommendation in stead would be to shave the area immediately upon entering the shower or tub.

The final step to ensure you don’t get bikini razor bumps is to make sure to use an antiseptic gel or ointment directly following shaving.  This will help to drastically reduce the occurrence of razor bumps.

If you are looking for a great product to help eliminate the razor bumps, try Faceworks!  Used after every shave, Faceworks helps to eliminate razor bumps in all areas of the body.  Try it today!

Disadvantages of Shaving Your Head Bald

Disadvantages of Shaving Your Head BaldIn our last article post, we discussed some of the advantages of shaving your head bald for both men and women.  We had a couple of comments covering this post and thought we would also cover the disadvantages of going with a bald head.  After all, this is a major decision!

Some of the disadvantages of shaving your head bald are:

-       The upkeep can be time consuming.  Some hair grows quicker that others and to keep it well maintained, it has to be smooth. This may mean shaving your head more than once or twice per week.

-       You head may be cold in the winter or whenever the temperature drops.  There’s nothing like having heat escape from your head!

-       If the weather is hot outside and sunny, you face the possibility of sunburn on your scalp. This is exposed skin and will need to be protected with sunscreen.

-       Your hair offers your some protection as well.  When you shave it all off, your head is completely exposed.  Hair acts as a buffer in cases of an accident.

-       Once you shave all your hair off, it’s done.  If you are not happy with the look, it can take months to get it back to where you started.

There are both advantages and disadvantages to shaving your head bald.  If you decide to do so, be sure to weigh both sides and make your decision.  One of the major concerns with shaving is upkeep.

To make sure your head stays in the best shape possible, be sure to care for your scalp with moisturizer and conditioners after each shave.  We recommend using Faceworks.  Not only is it a lubricant, but it also prevents the occurrence of razor bumps on your head.  For best results, use the product after every shave.

Advantages of Having a Bald Head

Advantages of Having a Bald HeadWhen men and women decide to shave all the hair off their heads and wear it completely bald, this is a major decision. The possibility of being different and showing the shape of their baldhead is scary at first for most. Here is a list of some of the advantages to going completely hairless and shaving your head bald:

- First of all, once you have shaved your head and gone bald, there is no need to worry about combing or styling your hair.
- There is not a need to set any more appointments that will take hours in the salon for women or wait in the long lines for the barber for men.
- When you remove all the hair, it virtually makes it impossible to get a bad haircut!
- It becomes enjoyable to wash your hair, less mess, and easy to style.
- You will never have another bad hair day!
- If it rains, who cares! Your hairstyle will never be affected by the weather.
- Do you like attention? Do you need a conversation starter? Why not attract attention using your head – literally!

Seriously though, choosing to shave your head and wear it bald is a major decision. When we attend tradeshows, we are always asked about the maintenance of the skin once the head is shaved and the best practices to keep the look fresh. Our first response to all who inquire is to make sure they use a product that has the ability to help heal the skin after a close shave.

Faceworks, is that product. It can be used everyday, has a pleasant fragrance, is hypoallergenic and is an antiseptic. By using it after ever shave, the hair will be soft, the head will be moisturized, and the skin will be flawless.

Razor Bumps – A Common Problem

imagesCAB0O966 Razor Bumps – A Common ProblemRazor bumps are not uncommon to men with coarse or curly hair. They are especially common for black men. Some statistics estimate that up to 83% of black men may experience razor bumps after shaving. Why?

The process of razor blade shaving actually cuts the hair at an angle, making it sharp. Curly hair will then curl back toward the skin, puncturing it, and the hairs become ingrown. This leads to red bumps and skin irritation, which can be very painful for some men.

If you’re already suffering from razor bumps, some of the suggested actions are to:

  1. Let your hair grow out for a while and give your skin a rest before shaving again and wear a small beard or a while.  At least 3 days should be enough time to heal.
  2. Treat your facial bumps immediately to prevent infection. Using a local antibiotic should suffice.
  3. Do not squeeze the bumps. That will tend to make things worse and prevents healing.

All the above actions are great.  However, an alternative to living and suffering the pain of razor bumps is to use Faceworks after each shave and let it help your skin to heal naturally.  Faceworks has no harmful chemicals and has an antiseptic already included. Not only will it help to eliminate razor bumps, but it will also moisturize your skin for a very noticeable difference.
If your problem persists, you will need to see a dermatologist.
